A Walk With The Cakes

On Friday, Miss Cakes & I took a stroll through our quiet neighborhood. It was only 20 minutes, but it was a fun adventure.

Miss Cakes yelled “Hi” to a man replacing shutters… on his second story windows. I told her it was generally not a good idea to yell at a person standing on such a high ladder.

She stepped on a Sewer cover in the middle of the road & asked what it was. I told her, “That goes down to the sewer. That’s where our poop goes.” And then I noticed the house we were standing in front of had the garage open with the homeowner inside. (Don’t you love it when someone witnesses one of your greatest parenting moments?)

“Mom, look!” Miss Cakes was pointing to the window of a home.

“Yes, they have a *spoooooky* Skeleton picture in their window,” emphasis on *spoooooky*.

At the top of her lungs (not high-pitched, just LOUD) & with some attitude, “It’s not Halloween anymore!
