making a work at home mom workspace.

Whether you need a whole room for an office, you only need a drawer, or you’re somewhere┬áin-between, having all your business items in one place can be a time and sanity saver. For those of you that need a space somewhere in-between, or don’t have an extra room in your home, you might have to annex your creative prowess and transform a closet into a workspace or build an office in your backyard {I posted some ideas a couple weeks ago here}. Earlier this week, I came across this post from Kim @ with some smart, beautiful workspace ideas. And then, I saw that she has a full archive of creative workspaces here!

My personal faves are:

this one from

this one from - I love the fact that you can't tell it's a workspace when it's closed -- this idea could be implemented for so many things!

{get the details to make your own here}

Of course, those come as no surprise since I {heart} both Martha Stewart & do it yourself mag. However, I also really like this one {don’t know the source, but you can see Kim’s post here}:

My current workspace is far from my dream {of having a whole room or a backyard office}, but it is what works for my family. A couple weeks ago, we laid out some carpet in our unfinished basement {I literally mean laid out, like just sitting on the concrete – so they’re more like giant rugs at this point}. My husband & I set up our computers on a table at one end of the carpeted area, we set up a playroom at the other end & put a couple couches in the middle. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate having this set-up down here in our basement. My productivity {for biz work & house work} has gone through the roof & when I go upstairs, the house is clean {for the most part}. So, my stress level has been drastically reduced. Now if I could just do something about these concrete walls…
